INTERNATIONAL WORKCAMPS - SADEP'S yearly international workcamp like any of her cultural exchange programmes are organised in both summer and winter, it is aimed at bringing the youth of the world to learn, share ideas and experiences and to enhance culture diversity.The Workcamps serves as an opportunity for the youth to use their leisure time profitably on projects in poor communities to reduce poverty. The workcamp last for between 2 to 3 weeks depending on the nature of the projects.

Workcamps are also organized for individuals groups of Six (6) and above for a specific period of time upon the request of the group. This people can form themselves into a group from Universities, High Schools, Colleges, Churches, Social Clubs, Youth Clubs and Friends. etc.

The first 2 days of arrival is used to orientate volunteers as regards to camp life, the community, projects, the cultural differences and the SADEP'S administration.

Volunteers are normally housed in school buildings or houses within the local communities. However volunteers who wish to bring their own tents are welcome. 20 - 24 volunteers are the average number for each camp. As usual the working hours is six (6) daily. Saturdays and Sundays are the non working days which are used for sightseeing in the communities and their environs organised by the camps or individuals. Arrival and Departure SADEP should be informed by the participants of their arrival time 4 - 7 days (1 week) ahead, for them to be picked from and to the airport. Volunteers should arrived at least 2 days before the start of the camps for personal and organizational convenience.

ITEMS FOR CAMPING
A. Working Clothes, Boots, Gloves, Water Bottle, Flashlight.

B. Raincoat, Toiletries, Mosquito Net , Sleeping Bag.

C. Sun Cream, Tent, Water Purifying Tablets, Swimming Dress.

D. Personal Medical Kits, Insect Repellants.

E. Volunteers can also bring things that can show case their culture to share others to appreciate their culture values.

THE USE OF THE PARTICIPATION FEE €200 OR $270 OR £150

a) . ADMINISTRATION:- Surveying of camps , programmes ,staff allowances, stationery, communication and others.

b). ACCOMODATION AND FEEDING:- Lodging upon the arrival of the volunteers from their home countries and feeding before and during camping periods.

c). EXCURSIONS (TOURS):- Visiting of some selected tourist attractions.

d). TRANSPORTATION:- Conveying the volunteers on their arrival and departure to the Airport as well as to and from the camps.

The participation fee is paid on arrival by the volunteers in Ghana and NOT REFUNDABLE.
